Founded in 2017, by Maria Giakoumatos and Maria Panayotou, The Hellenic Performing Arts Foundation aims to support those who are keepers of authentic Hellenic, Greek and Cypriot performing arts.

Through collaboration and innovative event opportunities, HPAF’s mission is to bring even more of a focus to performance arts and to provide authentic experiences with the aim of learning and perpetuating the Hellenic culture through performance arts.

Both Maria and Maria feel a deep sense of connection to the Hellenic performing arts, which drove them to create this foundation. Simply put, HPAF in the authentic way, aims to support the preservation of Hellenic performance arts, by those who are the performance artists themselves to supporting

As such, two of the main goals of HPAF are to continue to support Greek dance groups through immersive instruction, and to provide a grant-based artists’ guild to support research, and performance initiatives. In 2024 HPAF plans to initiate these goals as part of their strategic plan and foundational priorities.
